Architectural Alchemy, Industrial Precision.
They are usually stained with iron oxide, darkened by carbon, or flecked with 24K gold leaf. I don’t sit at an easel; I work at a bench. My process isn’t about "painting"—it’s about the manipulation of molecular behavior to create Urban Relics that command the rooms they inhabit.
Based in the industrial heart of South Wales and serving the high-end London design corridor, I’ve spent years bridging the gap between fine art and structural design. My studio is a laboratory where Brutalist Geometry meets Reactive Metallurgy.
I believe luxury should have a pulse. My work is a direct challenge to the flat, the digital, and the disposable. I am obsessed with the point where architecture meets decay—the moment where a raw material transforms into something historic.
I’ve moved away from the world of prints and reproductions to focus entirely on Original Architectural Reliefs. I want to create pieces that feel like they were excavated or forged, rather than simply hung.
As a designer, I understand that my work must meet the structural demands of the spaces it inhabits. This is why I have pioneered a process using Aluminium Composite:
I operate Urban Relic Studio with a B2B-first mindset. Having worked alongside architects and interior designers, I know that your projects require more than just "art"—they require solutions.
"I build for the designers who are bored of the 'pretty' and are looking for the 'substantial.' If you want art that feels like it was forged rather than painted, we speak the same language."
What exactly is an "Architectural Relief," and how does it differ from a standard painting?
Unlike a traditional painting on canvas, a relief is a three-dimensional structural piece. I build layers of industrial textures and reactive metals onto a rigid Aluminium Composite base. The result is a heavy, tactile topography that interacts with the lighting of a room. It is a physical object of weight and substance, more akin to a wall-mounted sculpture than a flat image.
Do you create original works only, or do you also accept custom commissions?
I do both. My gallery features a range of original, ready-to-buy pieces developed in-house, each telling its own story. I also warmly welcome custom commissions — whether you have a specific size, theme, material preference or personal memory you’d like transformed into art. I’ll work closely with you throughout the process to ensure the final piece reflects your vision and fits perfectly in its intended space.
How do I care for and maintain my industrial-style artwork?
Do you offer custom sizing for specific architectural voids?
Yes. Operating with a B2B-first mindset, I specialize in bespoke scaling. Whether you are looking for a singular focal point for a luxury residence or a series of massive installations for a commercial lobby, I can engineer the dimensions to meet your specific architectural requirements.
How is the work shipped, and is it protected during transit?
Given the weight and specialised nature of these reliefs, we do not use standard courier packaging. Every piece is secured in a custom-built, museum-grade timber crate within my South Wales studio. For our UK-based partners (and international clients later on), we coordinate specialised logistics and "White-Glove Delivery" to ensure the work arrives in pristine condition.
Are these works suitable for high-traffic commercial environments?
Absolutely. Because I use industrial-grade materials and rigid foundations, these pieces are far more durable than traditional fine art. They are designed for the rigours of corporate boardrooms, luxury hotels, and high-end retail spaces where structural permanence is just as important as aesthetic impact.
